Why The Lemonade Stand?

Your bi-weekly refreshment. Straight from the stand.

I love this photo of me and my sister. I was probably around 4 years old when we set up shop on the corner of our street, offering the deal of the century.

25 cent cup of lemonade + a free cookie with every purchase.

Very safe to assume our investors (parents) were losing quite a bit of money with this deal. And by that I mean our lemonade stand was practically hemorrhaging money. For most, running out of lemonade would be your cue to pack up and call it a day. But we didn’t let a supply issues slow us down. Some days we had a lemonade stand… others we had a welch’s white grape juice stand. (pictured above)

Since my lemonade stand did so well back in ’03, I thought I’d bring it back 20+ years later.

Who am I?

My name is Emily. If you’re really curious, you can see some of what I’ve worked on here.

This isn’t a newsletter…

My goal is simple: a consistent bi-weekly piece of content coded entirely in my own personal taste. I’m trying to avoid saying “newsletter” cause I’m no reporter and this ain’t the news.

I just want to share the things I’m building, the tools I’m using, the ideas I’m circling, the content I’m consuming, and the details I can’t stop noticing and obsessing over. A lot of this lives in the marketing, branding, and design realm. But really, it could be anything that I think is cool or worth noting.

All in all, if its on my mind or captures my attention, I’ll likely share it here.
